Dundee has significant internationally acquired expertise in the scientific and academic worlds. Below are the words of two Ambassadors who have been invaluable in giving us feedback about our services and in acting as referees for future conference and event organisers.

Tim Heilbronn, Association for Crop Protection in Northern Britain.

“Dundee is now well established as the venue of the biennial Crop Protection in Northern Britain Conference, attracting delegates from all over Scotland, northern Britain and Ireland, as well as from Northern Europe. Indeed, such is its association with the host city that to many it is simply referred to as ‘The Dundee Conference’. Suggestions a few years ago that the conference might be better situated in Edinburgh to broaden the attendance were strongly rejected by the delegates in a survey, and the organisers continue to be delighted with the West Park Conference Centre as its venue for the conference.

Dr Suzanne Zeedyk , Department of Psychology, University of Dundee.

I have now hosted three International Conferences in which the Convention Bureau has played a key role by pulling together the many separate components that make up such events. It clearly works – here is a quote from a delegate at one of our conferences:

‘As chair of the Society of Reproductive and Infant Psychology, I can’t recall, in the 20 years that the Society has been holding annual conferences in UK cities, ever being given a warmer welcome than Dundee has given us this year.’
