Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau has a commitment to reducing the impact of its conferences on the environment. To ensure that you make the most out of your trip and make a difference to your carbon footprint, here are some useful green tips.

Preparing for the conference:

  • Avoid unnecessary paper waste by downloading your travel details onto your mobile phone or laptop rather than printing them off.
  • Turn off all electrical appliances before you leave, ensuring that they are not left on standby.
  • If you are planning on taking paper with you to make notes at the conference, make sure that you use recycled paper and use both sides of each page to avoid unnecessary waste.

Travelling to the conference: 

  • Find out if other delegates attending the conference live nearby, and organise car sharing to cut down on the number of vehicles travelling to the event.
  • If possible, travel by train or coach to reduce your impact on the environment.
  • Why not combine business with pleasure by organising an extended break in Dundee and Angus after the conference? You will save on holiday costs as well as your carbon footprint.

Staying at your hotel or accommodation:

  • Ask for your towels and bed linen to be changed less frequently to cut energy use. 
  • Turn off all lights and electrical appliances when you leave your room.
