To mark the occasion, Dundee Heritage Trust is producing a special exhibition of photographs and objects from its collections, many of which have never been publicly displayed before.  The show will feature stunning images of the Terra Nova, sledging parties, penguins and seals, vast icebergs, life in the hut at Cape Evans and portraits of the men including highly emotional photographs of the Polar party at the South Pole. </p>

Most of the leading artists of the period are featured, including Edward Baird, John Bellany, The Scottish Colourists, Stanley Cursiter, Alberto Morrocco and James McIntosh Patrick.  Consider the Lilies is the title of a painting in the exhibition by Peter Collins. </p>

The team behind the conservation of one of only a handful of recognisably ancient urban buildings left in Scotland has picked up another award. Tayside Buildings Preservation Trust and Dundee City Council were recognised in the Royal Town Planning Institute's (RTPI) Planning Awards, scooping the UK heritage category for their work at Gardyne's Land. The complex of five historic buildings situated within an outstanding conservation area in the centre of Dundee, includes a merchant's house built around 1560 and is the only complete domestic building surviving from the time when Dundee was Scotland's second city. </p>
