In addition to this, VisitScotland operates a national accessibility scheme.  By assessing establishments according to set criteria, they identify and promote places that meet the requirements of visitors with mobility needs.  The three categories of accessibility, drawn up in close consultation with specialist organisations are:

Category One (C1) - Provides Unassisted Wheelchair Access for Visitors     Category One (C1) - provides unassisted wheelchair access for visitors                
Category Two (C2) - Provides Wheelchair Access with Assistance  Category Two (C2) - provides wheelchair access with assistance
Category Three (C3) - Offers Access for those with Mobility Impairment Category Three (C3) - offers access for those with mobility impairment
