Arbroath Signal Tower Museum

Arbroath Signal Tower Museum occupies several Regency 'A' listed buildings which originally comprised the Bell Rock Lighthouse shore station.  The museum tells the story of Arbroath, the lighthouse, civic treasures and local fishing, textile and engineering industries.

Brechin Town House Museum

Brechin Town House Museum introduces visitors to the history of the town, its religious significance, its people, commerce and crafts.  Medieval finds, objects representing the once thriving textile and engineering industries, and Brechin's civic and military histories are all interpreted in fine displays, along with themed temporary exhibitions.

Glenesk Folk Museum

Set up in 1955 and newly refurbished, the museum houses a collection of artefacts with local connections.  These range from samplers to a 17th Century Dutch style box bed.  Our archive room has a collection of books and genealogy records.  Victorian dressing-up and period games for children are also provided.

Kirriemuir Gateway to the Glens Museum

In the centre of the historic and charming 'Little Red Town' is the 400 year old Townhouse.  This contains the Gateway to the Glens Museum covering the history and culture of the building, of the town, and of the Western Angus Glens.  There is an ever-changing temporary exhibition area.

Meffan Museum & Art Gallery

The Meffan illustrates the history, art and industry of Forfar.  Visitors can wander through time along an old cobbled street, passing a knockmaker's workshop, a linen-weaving shed and confectionery and Forfar bridie shops.  Forfar's 17th Century witchhunts are relived.  There is an ambitious programme of contemporary art exhibitions.

Montrose Museum

Montrose Museum was one of the first purpose-built museums in Scotland.  It retains the feel of a traditional community museum and tells the story of Montrose through its people, shipping and whaling industries and its local wildlife.  The art gallery displays temporary exhibitions of paintings and sculptures.

Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre

Britain's first operational airfield was set up in Montrose by the Royal Flying Corps in 1913.  Our extensive collection of artefacts, pictures and memorabilia tell its story.  Whatever your interest, be it Aviation, Britain at War, Radio, Local History or Ghosts, it offers something for everyone and is the ideal venue for a family day out.
