Humpback whales impacted by climate change

Climate changes are resulting in physical and biological changes in the world’s oceans and scientists from the University of St Andrews have led a study into the breeding success of humpback whales in the Gulf of St Lawrence in Canada. The research shows that numbers have fallen significantly at this location which is an important summer feeding ground for humpback whales. Calving rates declined significantly over the study period.
