The lockdown behaviour of keen golfers through the pandemic has been studied by a team at the Division of Sport and Exercise Sciences at Abertay University and York St John University. The research project has provided an insight into how golfers continued to train during lockdown – practising key skills such as chipping, putting and even full golf shots from the comfort of their own home. Some also turned to virtual reality video games, whilst others engaged in more sedentary golfing pursuits such as watching online golfing tutorials and listening to gold podcasts.
