A lack of suitable toilets is a barrier that people with complex health needs face when accessing venues and their communities. Many require a Changing Places toilet which includes a hoist, an adult changing bench, a tracking system and space for a large wheelchair plus carers. We can support you to make your event fully inclusive with the hire of our mobile Changing Places toilet called the pamiloo which can be taken to any venue or event to provide accessible toilets.
PAMIS can also support you to consider other ways to make your event as inclusive as possible for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and how to ensure that they have intellectual, as well as physical, access to your event.
We also have a range of training courses available that will support you to welcome our group to your venue and any future decisions around accessibility.
PAMIS is the only organisation in Scotland that works solely with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities. We provide a range of services and projects including; Family Support Service, Information & Library service and campaigns for equity in services for people with profound and complex disabilities.
People with PMLD and their families face many barriers to accessing and participating in the community, and PAMIS works on a number of fronts to enable inclusion and improve their quality of life.
The Kiltwalk team are delighted to have the Pamiloo at the Dundee event. It is fantastic that walkers with complex needs can get involved in the event and enjoy all the fun, and this is only possible by having the Pamiloo on site. We aim to be an inclusive and fully accessible event and thank the charity providing it for kindly bringing it along
